Mirror Name Project

For this project what I had to do was create my name in cursive on one half of a piece of paper, mirror it to the other side (free hand) and disguise it into a picture. This is my result.

Value/Texture Magazine Face Project

For this project, I had to find a black and white face that took up the entire page. We then had to cut the page in half directly across the face. I glued one half of the face to a large piece of paper and the other half was used as reference to shade and remake the other half of the face. It took me a while to get started but when i did it was very encouraging to see what i'd done. Anyways, here's my final result:

Line Question Answers


1.  How does the author define "line"????
2.  What is required to make line? (This must be pretty important if it is so closely linked to line!!)
3.  What is "dimension"???
4.  List many ways that artists create line.
5.  Define an "outline" and an "implied" line.

Answers:

1. The author defined "line" as an "element of art that is the path of a moving point through space".
2. To make a line, you need a tool (pencil/paper, stick/clay) and dimension.
3. Dimension is "the amount of space an object takes up in one direction".
4. Ways that artists can creates lines are: Drawing with a pencil and paper, or scratched into wet clay using a stick.
5. Outline: A line that shows or creates the outer edges of a shape.
    Implied Line: A series of points that the viewer's eyes automatically connect.
